Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BetterCalendar ("the App"), developed by ConnectIT Technologies ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

BetterCalendar is a calendar and task management application available on iOS and Android. The App provides:

• Timeline-based calendar views for managing events
• Task creation and management
• Map integration for event and contact locations
• Contact association and management
• Cross-device syncing via cloud services
• Canvas LMS integration for academic users
• Apple Calendar and Reminders import (iOS)
• Google Calendar two-way integration (iOS and Android) — read events and, with your consent, write your edits back to your Google Calendar via the Google Calendar API

3. Subscription and Payments

3.1 BetterCal Pro Subscription

BetterCalendar offers a premium subscription ("BetterCal Pro") that unlocks additional features. BetterCal Pro is available as:

• Monthly subscription — billed monthly
• Yearly subscription — billed annually

3.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

3.3 Managing Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings:

• iOS: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
• Android: Google Play Store > Subscriptions

3.4 Free Trial

If a free trial is offered, the subscription will automatically begin at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

3.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be notified of any price changes in advance, and changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

You may create an account using anonymous authentication or by providing an email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4.2 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use BetterCalendar. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

4.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the App's settings. Upon deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or servers
• Use automated tools to access the App without authorization
• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of BetterCalendar, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the property of ConnectIT Technologies and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create within the App, including events, tasks, notes, and custom places. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services to you.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any purpose other than delivering the services described herein.

8. Third-Party Services

BetterCalendar integrates with third-party services including:

• Google Firebase: Authentication and cloud data storage
• Apple EventKit: Calendar and reminders access (iOS)
• Android CalendarContract: Device calendar access (Android)
• Google Calendar API: Two-way calendar event read and write on iOS and Android, authorized through standard Google OAuth using the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events scope. By connecting your Google Account, you authorize BetterCalendar to read your Google Calendar events and to write your edits, deletions, and additions back to your Google Calendar on your behalf. You may revoke this access at any time inside the app (Settings > Google Calendar > Sign Out) or at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. BetterCalendar's use of Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy and complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
• Canvas LMS: Academic course and assignment data
• Apple MapKit / Google Maps: Map and location services

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

9. Privacy

Your use of BetterCalendar is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 "As Is" Basis

BetterCalendar is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10.2 No Guarantee of Availability

We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times. The App may be subject to interruptions, delays, or errors. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability.

10.3 Data Accuracy

While we strive to maintain accurate data synchronization, we do not guarantee that all data will sync perfectly across devices at all times. You should not rely solely on BetterCalendar for critical scheduling without backup measures.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ConnectIT Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or content
• Loss of revenue or profits
• Missed appointments or scheduling errors
• Interruption of service
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ConnectIT Technologies, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
• Providing notice within the App
• Sending an email notification (if applicable)

Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Idaho.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ConnectIT Technologies regarding your use of BetterCalendar and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
