Summary: SignalWize connects to your Juniper Mist organization to provide mobile monitoring and management. It processes data from the Mist API and stores credentials securely on your device. We use Firebase for anonymous analytics and crash reporting to improve the app.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Provided by You
SignalWize collects the following information necessary for its operation:
- Mist API Credentials: When you log in, we securely store your Mist API token or session cookies on your device using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences (KeyStore). These credentials are used solely to authenticate your requests to the Juniper Mist cloud API.
- Google Sign-In Profile: If you use Google Sign-In, we process your email address and basic profile information (name, avatar) to authenticate you with the Mist dashboard. This data is not stored on our servers but is used for session management.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
We collect anonymous data through Google Firebase services to improve the app:
- Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics): Anonymous crash logs, stack traces, and device state information when the app encounters an error.
- App Analytics (Firebase Analytics): Anonymous usage statistics such as screen views, session duration, and feature usage. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.
Important: Your Mist network data (APs, switches, clients, configurations) is fetched directly from the Juniper Mist API and displayed on your device. We do not intercept, store, or transmit this data to our own servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- App Functionality: To authenticate you with the Mist cloud and display your network dashboard, topology, and insights.
- Security: To protect your stored credentials using device-level encryption.
- Improvement: To identify and fix crashes, optimize performance, and understand how users interact with the app.
3. Permissions We Request
SignalWize requests the following system permissions:
- Internet: Required to communicate with the Juniper Mist API and Firebase services.
- Biometric/Face ID: Required to securely unlock the app and access stored API credentials.
- Location/Bluetooth: May be requested for specific features like site surveys or locating nearby Mist devices (if applicable).
- Notifications: Optional. Used to alert you about network alarms or critical events.
4. Third-Party Services
SignalWize uses the following third-party services:
5. Data Security
We prioritize the security of your credentials and network data:
- Secure Storage: API tokens are stored using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences, backed by the hardware-backed Android Keystore system.
- HTTPS Encryption: All communication with the Mist API and Firebase services occurs over secure HTTPS connections.
- Direct Communication: The app communicates directly with the Mist cloud; your data does not pass through any intermediary servers controlled by us.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:
- Mist API credentials and session data: stored on your device only, and removed when you log out of the app or uninstall it.
- Google Sign-In profile data: used for session management only and not retained on our servers.
- Crash reports and analytics: retained by Firebase according to Google's default retention periods, and held in anonymous, aggregated form.
- Your Mist network data: never stored by us. It is fetched from the Juniper Mist API for display and is not retained after your session ends.
To delete the data SignalWize holds, log out of the app or uninstall it — this removes all locally stored credentials and session data from your device. To request deletion of anonymous diagnostic data, contact us at the address below.
7. Children's Privacy
SignalWize is a professional network management tool and is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access and Deletion: You can clear all stored credentials and app data by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of analytics tracking via the app's settings menu (if available) or by disabling usage data sharing in your device settings.
